In 2023, the global mobile gaming industry surpassed $90 billion in annual revenue, yet Tencent alone accounts for roughly $25 billion of that total—nearly one-third of the market. The result is a stagnant ecosystem where success depends more on budget and reach than on creativity or efficiency.

Independent studios face high entry barriers, long production cycles, and limited access to users. Meanwhile, the profits generated by players’ time and attention stay locked in corporate hands.
